Michael Ruff

I attended my first Michael Ruff concert for my 21st birthday. It was a welcome surprise coordinated by my then wife and a now cherished friend. Needless to say, I have been a fan every since. I’m lucky enough to have all of his albums and to have seen him a myriad of times over the course of the last 20 years. While Michael has changed his focus back to his Christian roots, his music and his legacy continue to inspire both audience and musician alike. Michael has had an impressive career, working with industry greats and his songwriting is something most people have heard without even recognizing his authorship. Today, Michael has a website and a store, which is quite different from the days when his fans would have to follow internet message groups and try and find his albums online, usually from obscure CD stores located in other countries.

As it turns out, my small contribution to the Michael Ruff collective, according to Google analytics, seems to be his discography – so I have chosen to keep it alive. Michael has just released a new album (also available from Fat Tuesday Records) and there is quite a few albums available for purchase via the web. For those of you who get a chance to experience Michael play live, I heartily recommend it. He is an incredible talent and usually plays with equally talented musicians – it is a rare treat indeed.
