It has been 8 years since my first wife reluctantly let me take posession of my '91 M3. Granted, it was a stretch for a young couple just starting out, but somewhere in my crazy head - I was owed. That began a love/hate relationship with my first M3 that I won't forget. If I had I known that the car would have needed so much "TLC" (Tons of Loose Cash) I might have abandoned the purchase altogether. In spite of the entry fee and subsequent maintenance costs - I fell in love with the Ultimate Driving Machine.
So here we are, after 8 years of faithful service and many a run-in with "Honda Powered" racers, I have retired my first baby with 112,000 miles on the old odo. It wasn't easy to let her go, but in the end I think it was the right choice. In a world of an impending family, and escalating maintenance costs it was a bittersweet decision that had to be made.
My current toy is an E36 M3 and as many of you will joke, I wasn't even able to find a different color... In spite of the color issue, I did manage to get lucky with another "previously owned" BMW. Although, I won't be getting as exotic with this car as I was with the first, I am ashamed to admit I will be adding a couple of things that will "enhance" the car's already stellar performance...
