Stupid is as stupid does... And it seems that the residents of south county are getting even stupider... 'cuz that's the way we do it in the O.C. biatch!

Listening Post. This is just a quick blurb for those of you who are interested in a good pair of headphones. Recently, I've been using the Sennheiser RS 110s at work. They are a wireless headphone setup with a transmitter about the size of a coffee mug and futuristic looking headphones. The headphones are comfortable and don't bother my ears even after wearing them for 2-3 hours during the day. The transmission has small glitches but the sound is awesome and light years ahead of anything else I've owned before. These headphones don't take a lot of volume to fill your ears with clean, clear sound. The only downside is that they do "leak" so turning up the sound with people around you is a bit of problem.

I didn't think I'd like these as much as I do but the wireless aspect of the headphones does make it easy to move around my desk and do terribly dorky things such as refilling my water mug or getting something from the printer while wearing them. So if you're interested in a nice pair of headphones and are willing to fork out the cash - give em a whirl or try some of the other great headphones that Sennheiser has to offer.

The Big Easy. Most of our visit to New Orleans was a blur but Karen and I had an incredible time. We went to the Jazzfest and Heritage Festival and spent 4 days in New Orleans seeing the sights. The city was a mix of older architecture and modern convenience. We stayed at the Hotel MonteLeone which while beeing a great hotel it also provided the best location to get to everything quickly. Being one block from Bourbon street was always nice and meant that we didn't have far to stumble home after a night of partying. In spite of all the partying and drinking we still managed to get a lof sight seeing done and we have the pictures to prove it.

While I was thrilled with the trip in general I was disappointed that even though the word Jazz was heard at every corner of the city I wasn't able to find any... Even the Jazz Festival turned out to be just a pop music celebration. But other than that I have no complaints. My kidneys are recovering nicely and the buzzing in my ears have subsided. Its been a rough week for both of us trying to acclimate back to work but we'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I'm still sorting through all the pics and will have some of them posted to my flikr account by the end of the week. After the successful outcome of this trip we're going to have to see if we can't turn it into an annual get together. Now, if we could just combine some diving with it, it would become and ideal vacation...
