Note to Self. "Delete all web cam videos of me singing to Dutch techno."

Aging. I can honestly say that this is the first year that I've actually felt "old". Granted it came after a week of snowboarding and watching my niece devour the big runs with us without so much as a whimper... I figure I've got one more seasons hanging out with her and then I'll be playing catch-up with her from then on. So, here I am celebrating a birthday amidst rain that this area hasn't seen since my birth in good ol' 1969 - somehow it feels "right".

Tonight we're off to The Hobbit for dinner and I'm expecting a wonderful meal with good friends. I'll post some pictures once I get them transferred to the PC.

Things are going well and we still find ourselves waiting on our impending pregnancy and subsequent child birth. Who would have guessed that something that was so easy in our adolescence would elude us so completely at this point in our lives. We keep vacillating but we know that we want to start a family so I think at some point we'll have to get serious and make it happen...

For those of you who have sent me well wishes - Thanks. You always remind me that I'm blessed to have the life I live.

Cheater. Maybe telephony isn't a good thing after all...

I got your 30". Well if you thought that having a 30" Apple Display panel was nice then here's something to consider that will bring "bling" envy to all Mac users in your neighborhood. Of course, this really only works if you already have the plasma laying around somewhere in the house... I can only imagine what Quake Arena would look like on my Plasma Screen...

Pimp it. No really, this will be the last entry like this for the day - I'm feeling kinda "ghetto"...

Bling for your denture thing. For the man who wants to let the ladies know that he's got what it takes...What's next? A "spinner" belt buckle? Oh yeah, that's here.

Snow Days. As you can tell I've been busy of late and posting updates has been on the back burner for a while now. I thought of posting some thoughts last week while I was in Mammoth but that never happened either. I was either too busy reading, snowboarding, watching tv or being frustrated while trying to program my Pronto TSU 3000. At least we enjoyed some broadband access while we were there. Apparently someone near the condo has setup a wireless access point and as usual the WAP station is wide open. So now that our annual week in Mammoth is over with I thought I'd try and get back into the routine of publishing some things on the site...

So here are some highlights to catch everyone up with...

I am just as depressed as most people are about the Tsunami; its impact and seemingly endless amount of problems its causing. I'm even more upset about the on-line scams that are taking advantage of the situation and the rumors of child abductions and profiteering from the loss of life. In a rare instance I have donated money to help resolve the problem via the Red Cross.

I was horrified as I watched the footage of the mudslide in Ventural County but I also thought to myself - why don't you people just move?

Christmas and New Years were nice but it just solidified the fact that Thanksgiving is still my favorite holiday. I think that taking a trip next year during these holidays will save me a lot of money.

The metro rail train wreck was pretty bad. I have friends that take trains that early in the morning and they're okay, but it still sucks that people have to deal with the problems of a disturbed individual. I wouldn't have any problem letting the victims of the crash "sort it out" with the man that caused the accident.

I'm still working on learning to play the guitar although I must say that it is harder than I thought it would be. Mostly because it seems that its a lot of memorization and I still can't find a method to it unlike the piano. Maybe its because I'm not taking formal lessons with an instructor but all the same I'm not able to strum some cords and play a couple of tunes. Is it worth the callouses? Well, not yet anyway. When I sound more like Otmar Leibert it may be worth it then.

Got some tickets to see Erasure in May at the Grove of Anaheim. Quite possibly my 2nd favorite band behind Howard Jones, we're looking forward to seeing them perform live. Its been a while since we've seen them in concert but we are faithful attendees and I have yet to miss a concert. Can you believe they've been together for 20 years? Where does the time go?

I won a really nice road bike at our company Christmas party. I may not be as cool as the Plasma TV that my friend Josh won at his party, but I'm having fun riding it and in some ways I think it was a sign. Less TV more exercise... This of course led me to same crazy idea about training for a mini tri-athalon. So I joined up with some friends from work and I'm currently working up to the event which will take place in August... So far so good, but the pain lingers on.

As for things right now - I'm getting over a cold and counting down the days till the 3 day weekend. I'm hoping to catch Constantine in the theater and do some cleaning around the house. If I manage to find some free time I also hope to turn over some more movies on my Netflix queue. BTW - did you know that you can only have a max of 500 movies in your Netflix queue? Go figure, I'd find out what the limit is...
