So wrong. Words can't even describe how wrong this clip is but on the other hand - it is pretty freaking hilarious. Enjoy.

Bored? The ingenuity of man never ceases to amaze me. Of course, just because the mountain is there, doesn't mean you have to climb it...

Career Choices. Josh and I went to Newport Beach's version of Donut Derilects this past weekend. As we were both drooling over a bright metallic orange Lambourghini Gallardo some guy from behind us asked if we wanted him to open the doors for us. As we turned around we were thoroughly floored due to the fact that the person standing in front of us couldn't have been older than me... He opens the door and begins to tell us that the Gallardo is in fact his second Lambo and that part of the reason that he got the new one was that he didn't like the way Lambourghini matched the door panels to the exterior color of the car. He pointed out that this time around he custom ordered the interior in black and had the exterior color in the stitching. Needless to say the car was stunning and the interior was only outdone by the silky V10 sitting just aft of the seats. So at this point Josh and I couldn't help but think - where was the high school counselor with this career choice when we sat in their respective offices?

So I took some pictures and we were on our way - it definitely counts as on of the more surreal experiences of my life due to the fact that there wasn't a car at the meet that I could afford. It just reminded me that rich people have problems, they're just "very different" from ours. Very different. In any case, it was fun and I did get to see some of my dream cars up close and personal. I'd say that it was definitely worth getting up at the crack of dawn just to see them.

Make war, not breasts. Apparently you can see foreign lands, shoot the enemy and get new boobs - What a deal? I never realized that our government was in the plastic surgery department...

Staying Current. Things at the house are continuing to move along nicely. After receiving the money from our HELOC we're busily getting things done around the house. The kitchen has been painted, our new couch has arrived, Daisy's new permanent doggie door has been installed and all of our new lighting fixtures have replaced the ugly ghetto models that came with the house when we bought it. There are a couple of things left for us to buy (kitchen appliances) and paint (family room) but after that we'll be done with the down stairs... Maybe one of these days I'll post some pictures.

Speaking of pictures... there's a new pic site that I'm trying (Flickr). The service is stil beta but it has some promising features including and RSS feed and Blog compatibility. It also looks like it will be cameraphone friendly which will come in handy when Karen and I get our new cel phones. I mean, what else would you possibly ever need when your cel phone plays music, takes pictures and organizes your life for you?

Google-iscious So the latest news in the IPO status of my favorite search engine is that they're back on track. Having survived a mis-step with an interview in playboy magazine the famed duo move on to make an estimated 30 Billion dollars. Yes folks, that's billion with a 'B'. While Google has dropped the price on their stock to the "bargain" price of $85 its still too rich for my blood. Plus, I can't help but think that the stock will never skyrocket past $125 or $150... I could be wrong but in this case the Google ship has sailed without me.

Bigger and better things. After 10 years of faithful service Karen is now leaving her current employer. I can't say that I'm sad to see her leave, I can't say that I'll miss her 45 min commute or the stories she brings home with her. What I can say is that I think its for the best, for a lot of reasons, many of which I can't discuss here. I can't discuss those things here because I could be writing about them for days and in Karen's mind it doesn't do any good to dredge up bad memories or be vengeful or spiteful. I, on the other hand have a differing opinion but I will defer to her better judgement... What's done is done and I'm just glad that her journey has come to a close. Its been difficult all these years for me to continue to be supportive in the face of her struggles there but as some of my girl friends remind me - women are all about the "journey" and its something they have to go through on their own, in their own time. As a man I may not understand it sometimes but I don't discount it. So as Karen enjoys the best part of her job so far (the last 2 weeks) I continue my belief in karma and the principle of moving forward without regrets. From here, the future couldn't look any brighter...

Stargate Props. In a day and age when nothing seems sacred at least this is an area where sci-fi geeks and the like may be able to get one step closer to their imaginary heroes. MGM and Legends Memorabilia are teaming up to bring you the opportunity to buy some excellent looking props. You can take a look at the items up for sale here - Enjoy!

Providence. There are many things in my life that I tend to. Some things, like weeds in a garden never seem to go away completely. I pride myself in my ability to listen to constructive criticism and I've always made some kind of effort to see things from a different perspective. As I get older I realize that sometimes that process becomes more difficult with time. Maybe its because of the foundation for some opinions, layered over time and cemented by experience or stereotype. Sometimes I think its just that its easy to fall back into foregone conclusions and pre-conceived ideas. Some days I'll find that my own worst enemy is myself - a disservice to say the least... In the end I always realize that the longer I stick around on this planet the more opportunity I find to challenge my beliefs, re-shape them or change them completely. Unfortunately, much like geological events, these changes take time - all I can do is wait.

My friends teach me that people are innately good and that we are family by design. My wife continues to teach me that love conquers all and a soft heart bears all, heals all and unites everyone around us. For me, everyday is a new opportunity to tend the garden that is my life. Do the weeds get annoying? Of course. Is the work difficult? Sometimes. Is it worth it? You bet.

Happy Birthday! Today is my friend Beth's Birthday. She is a free spirit, with a creative streak the size of a metropolitan superhighway. Best wishes and positive energy for you Beth - I hope you have a fantastic birthday!
