Club 33. Having never been, it was a rare treat to dine at the famed restaurant. Located in the New Orleans quarters in Disneyland Club 33 represents the finest in dining that Disneyland has to offer and the only place to server alcohol on park premises. We had the Sunday brunch and as an added treat, park admission was included with our visit. Even though I've been to Disneyland hundreds of times I never get tired of going. I will say that the brunch was excellent and the caliber of food was delectable with dessert winning high marks amongst us. If you ever get a chance to go don't pass on it. Here's a look at how our day went...

If you can't be good, at least be good at it...

In celebratorum per anum. Today marks my 35th year on the planet and if you look at the number there's more 30s than 20s in there but so goes life. There isn't a whole lot I can say except that I'm blessed and comfortable in my own skin. I have a lot to be thankful for and I try to acknowledge it as often as I can. Being a natural pessimist gets in the way sometimes but I have Karen to help out in that area... In any case, today is what it is. With any luck it will be a good but uneventful day... A big thanks to all my friends and their well wishes - I do appreciate you all!

Man's best friend. A friend of ours lost her dog this past week. As Karen began to tell me the story I must confess that I began to tear up and I got a knot in my throat. I'm not sure why, but I've always had a soft spot for animals but dogs have a special place in my heart. I myself am on my fourth dog and I've had to deal with the death of one that I loved a lot. One might think that it gets easier with time or as you get older and understand more about life but that isn't true. I'm sure that things are even more intense when you have children, that's why I think that pets are a good stepping stone for parenthood. Whether you have a dog or cat or some other type of pet you just can't deny the fact that if you love them, they'll love you back unconditionally...
Now I know that the love for my dog is funny at times, as friends will attest. I've seriously wondered whether our dogs will be with us in the great beyond and I'm not afraid to admit that I believe they will be. If you're Christian by faith then I think you can agree - heaven would be a much better place if we were reunited with friends, family and pets alike - it just seems "right".
So it appears that one more of our faithful companions has left us and I know that only time will be able to heal my friend's heart. Things will get better after a while and soon she'll be left with happy memories and wonderful stories about her friend. In the mean time she's got our best wishes and all the empathy we can muster.
Like all things, our pets aren't permanent so if you have one, enjoy them now and treat them the best you can - they deserve that much. That's my 2 cents worth anyway...

Crimson. This is only a reminder of the way I feel when I'm around you, every day... I can't say it any better than this...
I will be the answer at the end of the line.
I will be there for you, while you take the time...
In the burning of uncertainty I will be your solid ground.
I will hold your balance if you can't look down.
If it takes my whole life I won't break, I won't bend.
It'll all be worth it, worth it in the end.
'Cause I can only tell you what I know... that I need you in my life.

Random Thought . Must hit penguin...
George Lucas is still a punk. If done for nothing else then to quelch the backfire that Lucas has had to deal with these past years about the original trilogy, its official, the release date has been announced. In september of this year we will finally be able to own the original Star Wars trilogy in its enhanced and updated form on DVD. On the one hand its earlier than his last prediction (2006) but it still seems a little late considering the material has been in his posession for almost 5 years now. In either case I will be getting a copy and enjoying the films one last time before I watch them again with the kids...

Enlarge This! I don't know what's worse, the lawsuit or the fact that this guy thought the products might work. You got what you got - now learn to use it and get over it...
The jig is up. And so we continue to kick the dead horse... As though we they have nothing better to do with their time and money, RIAA extends its long arm of the law overseas. Since I've seen how this particular sub-culture works it will be interesting to see what happens to file sharing as they continue to get squeezed. Its not a matter of stopping the movement its more of a "trying to stay ahead" of it. Though my activities have diminished greatly since the lawsuit phase of things I do admit that I grab an .mp3 file, here and there from time to time. As far as alternatives go I wish Apple would have made their agreement with Coke and not Pepsi. Its just one of those things where the music isn't worth the odds of getting stuck with a bad drink...
