Our new diggs

Tryptophan is my friend. I can't believe that another Thanksgiving is almost here... This year the holidays feel a little "out of sorts". We haven't had time to make our usual preparations and being embroiled in a hectic 21 day escrow hasn't helped. The house is a mess and we're surrounded by boxes at every turn. The latest issues are bringing our garage door into question and of course our association is not responsible - its times like these when you wonder if the association is responsible for more than just the paint scheme in our complex? Its been a pain to deal with and that's an understatement. So as the things stand now we're on hold until next week so the big move date has been moved to December 5 - any volunteers to help?

In any case, we're still alive and trying to focus on the positive side of things. We do have a lot to be thankful for, obvious things aside. So I'll leave you all with this small footnote, I'm sure I'll have more to share once Turkey day has passed. Have a great Thanksgiving! I'll chat with ya later.

Say Cheese. Sometimes I run across what would appear totally useless and "geeky" articles. This may prove to be one of them. Its not something that I would attempt but its just nice to know that there are people out there that are curious about how things work. If you're brave and a little "tech saavy" this may be up your alley. If you've ever felt like you're being ripped off when you "develop" digital prints from the Walgreens or Ritz digital cams now you have the ability to download the pictures yourself and re-use the camera. Here's the 411.

How deep does the rabbit hole go? The Meatrix

Random Thought . Haven't you just wanted a Tall Cafe Mocha with whipped cream? I'm there now.

Random Musings. I'm currently spending my day in a very long meeting. Some of the material pertains to me and some of it doesn't. Staying awake is becoming an chore especially since we just finished a very rich mexican food lunch. I'm sure I'll pay for it later but I couldn't resist the sweet corn cake - one of my favorite TexMex treats.

Needless to say, my mind is wandering so I thought I would comment on some things. First of all, I'm just counting the minutes until I leave. Today is the day that we are going to have our home inspection. Actually, I just got a call from Karen letting me know that we forgot to leave the keys to the heater which resides outside of our unit. Oh well, we didn't remember and nobody reminded us. It is a pain that now the inspector for our place is going to have to come back but I'm quite sure that the unit will pass with flying colors, considering its been installed in the last year, our new heater is definitely up to current code standards.

Its raining outside and immediately I wondered if I had closed my sunroof. Earlier in my life this wouldn't have been a problem, but as I'm getting older I'm beginning to be unsure about many a new thing. I grabbed my keys and went out into the parking lot fully expecting to find a wet interior. Thankfully enough, the sunroof was closed.

About the only thing I'm really concerned about - and at times it may appear innocous is the fact that our new home has a fireplace right where the television should be. I am actually being forced to purchase a plasma television - not necessarily forced, but you know how that goes. The only reason this is a problem is that I really wanted to get the 42" Samsung DLP High Definition screen. This will not happen. Of course, now that Karen has heard about the change in plan I have receieved a new memo indicating that obvious cabling will not be allowed - period. So now I also have to add the "pro install" when I get the unit delivered - sigh. Oh well, the end result will be that I get a new TV and speakers. Maybe, if I'm not too lazy I'll post some pictures and illicit some input. I'll let you know.

In any case - the agenda items continue to fly by and I lost track about an hour ago. I think I need to make an effort to try and keep up. I'll get back you later...

Are you overpaid? Find out and let us know... Now that we have a house in escrow I know for a fact that number 6 is true.
