The Material Girl. I always said it was a good thing for Britney to spend more time with Madonna...

I Confess. Karen and I are recovering from a busy weekend. After being "booked" both Saturday and Sunday with a myriad of things it seems that the normal work week is a welcome relief. Its still a weekend that needs a weekend of recovery - if you know what I mean... For those of you who still dig a little '80s music we're happy to report that General Public and The Human League are alive and well.

General Public

The Human League

We had a great opportunity to catch them at the Grove of Anaheim. The concert was good but did have its own humor. For one, it was funny to note that all of us "children of the decade of excess" seem to have done very well for ourselves as the parking lot was filled with mini vans, SUVs and luxury sedans. It was also very clear that the '80s generation are prone to enjoying food - pudgy waistlines were abound. As for the concert, the performance was great - General Public still puts on a great show and Dave Wakeling gave us a treat by performing a lot of his "English Beat" material. For the most part, The League still sounded great but I admit that they come off as a little sterile, I guess some things don't change... In any case, we're already looking forward to the Inland Invasion III, it will definitely be fun, and where else am I going to be able to see Duran Duran and Marc Almond on the same stage?

For now, I'm currently in the small, but beautiful city of Vancouver, Washington. Shimano saw fit to send me here to help out with some deployment issues at G Loomis so I'm wearing the hat of technical resource and teacher for the week. Life here runs at such a different pace from what I'm used to but it is so green and the weather is perfect - as a plus, Portland is just 10 minutes away and it definitely one of my favorite cities... I'm tired but I'm looking forward to the holiday, 3 days of rest is just what the doctor ordered. I hope you're all having a good week, we're in the homestretch now...

Back from the dead. I've been remiss of late, of course this isn't because I don't have anything to say, its mostly due to being busy at work and in my personal life... Things have been hectic but we aren't too worse for the wear. Lately, we've been on a re-decorating craze and we have a newly painted and seemingly complete living room for it. With the added inspiration of the new paint we are now moving on to the upstairs and getting our office in order. Between the computer and scapbooking equipment and supplies we were in desperate need of a facelift. I have a new desk now and soon enough we'll have new shelving units and a new coat of paint on the wall. Appropriately we are going with a color called "purple rain". You may think its strange but considering we did a "putty" in the living room with a faux technique and a brick red in our dining area the purple will fit right in. Once we're done I'll include a picture to quell the rumors and perceptions... And so, we continue to move through the house in anticipation of new carpet in the near future. Since the housing market seems to still be daunting we figured we'd stay put for a while and improve some things to make things a nicer for ourselves.

Work is still going well and I'm traveling at a job for the first time ever. Shimano is treating me really good so it motivates me to contribute as best I can. I'm still learning a lot of new technologies and I don't see that changing for a while. Hopefully, at some point I may be able to take a small break but for now I'm soaking everything up as quickly as I can.

Finally, for those of you who are curious - we're still not pregnant yet. Of course this is still something that we're working at but not having a lot of success in - and the only reason I'm mentioning it is because my friend Dana announced at lunch that he and his wife Adrienne are now expecting. With a sigh of relief and anticipation he is now allowed back on his bike and the jacuzzi... I think his new bike is the last thing he'll be able to buy for himself for a while.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope that life is treating you well - peace.

How bad can it be? Well, if you haven't seen Gigli (Jeelee) yet then you might want to think about that decision - hard. What may appear to be a romantic comedy on the surface may actually turn out to be as funny as watching a wounded animal struggle for life. This is the movie where the two love birds met and sparked their now, headed for marriage relationship. 3.8 million at the box office proves that re-writes and re-casting can't help a bad movie, thank God Halle Berry passed on this script. Of course if you don't care about my opinion, how 'bout another 101? We can only hope that Ben and Jen stop making films together after their second one (Jersey Girl) is released...
